Fatherhood: New Hope

Miri and I are not big on sharing an excessive amount of baby stuff so here's FAQ:

1. Aries is an NSD baby (natural spontaneous delivery)

2. Aries is a Korean-Taiwanese mix and the nationality will be decided at 18 of age.

3. If you think Aries looks like Miri, then yes. If you think Aries looks like Andy, then yes.

Why do couples have children? For some, it's a step that you just take at some point in life. For some, it's a step that you must take due to family pressure. For Aries, our 3-day-old baby, he is the symbol of hope, the result of love, and the change that we welcome.

Miri and I got married in 2017 and a little kid came out of us after 4 years. It is truly an experience like nothing else which includes feeling anxious about the unknown schedule. Fortunately, it all came down in its best condition. On the morning of the 28th of December, 2021, we rushed to the hospital, checked in, waited, dozed off several times, got a room, and were getting ready. If there was one thing to complain about it would be the malfunctioning anesthesia. Miri had to go through a few hours of partial pain that could have been avoided. When the medical team finally handled it, Aries was ready to enter the world.

Sitting about 5 meters from the labor bed and witnessing every second of the little baby coming out of someone was phenomenal. Never has something so magnificent appeared while we were right in front of it. It was a life and death moment and we did it. All of us.

Time moves so slowly whereas everything happens so quickly. It feels like Aries was just born and in a blink of an eye he's been with us for 3 days and 2021 is going to end in less than an hour. They say this couple of years since COVID-19 have been bad but honestly, they have been the best of mine since '06.

Thank you all for being a part of this amazing journey. While I cannot say I couldn't have done it without you because frankly I dont know who's reading, it does give me a sense of satisfation thinking that someone in the world knows my story. Happy New Year, dear reader.
