No More School

It's Teacher's Day (9/28) today and what better way to celebrate by discussing the probability of having no more schools in the future?
2020 certainly showed us how vulnerable humans are with a little Chinese virus but at the same time, it has given us an opportunity to examine the possibilities for the future.
Last year, we didn't know/ weren't sure that social practices could work with regulated distances and through cams, VR, or isolation! The world was in pieces at the beginning and then progressed into a global village where traveling becomes the norm. People started to meet with one another due to more frequent travels but now we connect instead of the old-fashion way, "meet". It is during a pandemic like COVID-19 which makes us wonder if we could already work from home, have food delivered to home, and even finish college... AT HOME, do we still need these "outdoor" places that could potentially kill us on the way, contribute to global warming, and waste time? Specifically today, we're going to go down on a no-school scenario future.
What is a school, its purpose, and its target?
A school is an educational institution designed to provide learning spaces and learning environments for the teaching of students under the direction of teachers. Most countries have systems of formal education, which is commonly compulsory. In these systems, students progress through a series of schools. The names for these schools vary by country but generally include primary school and secondary school. An institution where higher education is taught, is commonly called a university, but these higher education institutions are usually not compulsory. -Wikki
As shown above, you'll see that the essence of an educational institution is about learning but about the space and environment. Without a teacher, schools simply become big spaces with walls and ceilings. It is compulsory for minors but not for adults because children need to be attended and their adults are out working. Reverse the equation, and you'll get work-at-home parents and children learning at home. Perhaps it sounds too extreme eliminating schools now but from what we can see this year alone, in 50 years let's say, would make more and more sense.
Bullies, mass shootings, abductions, discriminations... these are more or less common in places but of which could be completely prevented or significantly decrease in case numbers if people don't learn in schools. After all, we haven't heard much, if any, about safety incidents for learning at home/homeschooling.
School supporters would come up with various reasons for the need of it, namely social interaction, guidance from teachers, handy curriculums. As a parent, the best education is home education; as a teacher, the system has always been in dire need of reforms; as a student, you only thrive if you're the right kind of kids they want. Look at where we're leading the youth into for their future. We encourage everyone to be their own selves, create our own spaces, and do only what we like. Children compete but they can't lose; they can't be forced to do what they're obligated to; they overpower the more experienced. This is a phenomenon growing much faster than the faulty reforms we try so hard to fulfill. Soon enough, it'll come a time when people realize that we've been fighting the wrong battles in education. Soon enough, we'll understand that we can't outsource everything. People are not perfect but the most responsible hands are still our own.
Do we need schools?
