Amazing Speaker

With Baby Ari being born and brought back home for nearly a month, all the thinking really was broken down to pieces. When you thought you caught a moment, he burst out in tears. When he's sleeping, you just want to sleep as well. However, [Free The Language] is forever the brainchild of Andy's so here are ideas for the coming March when things should get back on track.

During the past 2 months, all English lessons, including group, kids, 1 on 1, colearning meetings were all suspended. There was not really a timeline for when we could resume but March was an idea.

A new project or new phase is at hand- "Amazing Speaker". Phase 1 is for students to come and think outside of cram schools and understand how much more we could be learning, and to believe that [Free The Language] isn't some catchphrase for a business model. Phase 2 is a bit of an accident because thanks to COVID-19, learners were forced to open their minds to online lessons and so was Andy. Phase 3 is the most challenging by far. We're aiming for learners to finally take up a notch and learn through presentations.

"Amazing Speaker", being different from "Amazing Talker", is a project which not only focuses on learners speaking as before but more specifically targets their goal in learning English. A good learner could be speaking a lot due to Andy's way of eliciting words out. It will no longer be enough if you work with us! This year, 2020, will be the time for language learners, lovers, enthusiasts to learn by speaking, through yourselves, and from your own topics. No, we don't just want you to be a talker; we want you to be a speaker!

Here's the basic outline and ideas. As we move forward, we'll adjust as well as progress.

Saturday: schedule for a group or 1 on 1 session focusing on preparing your presentation.

Sunday: show up prepared at the time of presentation.

Isn't that simple? Simple things are challenging. Easy things are a waste of time.

For topics of the presentation, learners have OFF LIMITS OF CHOICES. You could introduce yourself, tell a joke, read a story, share your day, complain about something/someone...etc. Sky is the limit.

The presentation will be a monologue. No one will disturb you and you will only be seeing yourself and the face(s) of the teacher(s). After you finish, just sign off or listen to another speaker. Your feedback will be sent to you during weekdays as you prepare your next topic or a follow-up.

To be honest, a lot more details need sorting out but if we just keep waiting for the best version, things may never start as there's always room for improvement. What better way to progress by progressing.
