Sorry, there isn't voice blog this week. Feel free to tell me whether or not you'd like me to recite the article or to talk about it.
Since there has been a growing interest among Taiwanese people recently on one video that was about "whether the Earth is flat or not" and that "why some people believe that it is", while I being one of them.... let's dig into the meaning behind it.
Here the "speaker" talks about [flat-Earth "theory"] in the view of [round-Earth "theory"]. Before you call this whole thing crazy, let's get informed first...
The Earth is a flat disc with the center being Arctic and that is framed by Antarctica. (This explains why we don't fall off the edge and the ocean doesn't run out.)
The Moon and Sun are above us instead of both going to the other side of the Earth. They still rotate and orbit though in a circle and not around the Earth.
There is not gravity. The planet is constantly moving upwards.
While this video may be more entertaining but it is to me prejudiced for the fact that his point of view is based on picking sides. Fortunately, there are many others who are also interested in the subject matter.
To be honest, this speaker does... look a bit radical LOL. You can see it from the thumbnail on the top corner.
The Earth is not flat; it's round. Otherwise, travelers would be falling off the edge all the time, right?
Gravity makes sense for the shape of the Earth. What if gravity isn't real?

Admittedly, his explanation toward "the edge" wasn't too clear to me. I did listened to him a few times but nope, didn't get it. His later points on questioning mainstream belief, although sounding like more like a conspiracy, might just have a point because both speakers have mentioned that a part of flat-earthers' theory is the distrust of authority. Of course it makes sense to me who shares the same distrust LOL.
What do you think? Is the Earth flat or round? Let's give a few seconds to sink it in.
It's like the steps of grievance that I went from denial, self-doubt... to finally acceptance, though not really on agreeing with either side but to agree with both. It is more than just a yes-no question but a philosophical one.
Are there people who are trying to cover up the truth from us? Yes... but wait, are there? We live in a funny world where the mainstream feeds us binary worldview that the world is divided as yes or no, right or wrong, flat or round... we're so divided that we forget that everything can co-exist and that it does.
The Earth is round and flat. What's wrong is that we call flat-earthers anti-science and round-earthers brainwashed. That is just how the evils in this world are created, fear, chaos, despair... If only we agree to disagree or really to understand the true meaning of freedom.
That being said.... hehehe. If you really want to explore the idea of flat-earth theory but is as lazy as I am, here's how I process it:

Just picture where the Moon, Sun, stars and the Earth are and then turn it side ways. Picture the world (including the universe) as a pillar. As we go up/out, we simply look down; as we go "around", we're simply moving in a flat circle. Also, know that the Earth being flat does not mean that the world is 2 dimensional.
