Silver Linings Of COVID 19

A quick disclaimer, we obviously think that the pandemic has caused millions of lives globally and affected the way we live. IT IS A TERRIBLE THING.

It's not clear but the light is always there.

As the saying goes, "every cloud has its silver lining". There's a giant dark, dreadful, death-threatening cloud over our heads right now, and even so, something good can come out of it. This time, let's put aside the negativity that we all know too well and ponder on the opposite of woe, on the basis of that in Taiwan.

  • Online learning turned out to be more than possible

OK, some people may be thinking... "what the heck are you talking about? Online learning is terrible. They don't focus, they don't learn well, and their eyes are getting worse!". Excuse us for the interruption. What these people are thinking about is "online learning is terrible for THEIR family". We've seen many complaints and most, if not all of them are families which have minors. To be fair, the pandemic or online learning didn't do anything new or cause any troubles to this matter. They only reveal the problems that were neglected before the shutdown. Admit it. If you have trouble learning now, you had trouble learning before.

  • Working from home is more than applicable

Not all jobs can simply be online all of a sudden. However, there are many jobs, due to the pandemic, saving from the conventional office hours. Perhaps people knew this before but the bosses just wouldn't allow it. Well now, they must do so and look how functional the jobs still are. If you're a manager who thinks working from home for your staff means they're just chilling at home, think about this. Don't you want your staff to enjoy the work environment? Isn't your job as a manager to manage the team so they meet the quotas? No? Then you should quit. People can chill at home while working. Look up, not down.

  • Family time

Forget everything. When was the last time your schedule was this flexible, comparatively speaking? Spend some with them; learn to live together again. Perhaps you have the most difficult family in the world and there's no way that you make up with them. Take a chance, and it might just work. At least it wouldn't be worse.

  • Me time

We all have problems within ourselves. Look from bottom to top and you'll see that what we usually think of or try to solve is first the external factors. The real issue has been us the whole time, not our family, not the company, the how we work or learn. "I AM THE CENTER OF THE PROBLEM". To be more precise, how one thinks, feels, and does, is what makes the world. We fight with our family; we will fight with colleagues or managers. We don't know what we like; we don't learn well. Now is the time, to work on ourselves, and hopefully, before it's a mess outside again, you have a better chance to stand up with your head held higher. Or... just do some exercise. At least you'll be coming out stronger.
