Let's get "FIRE"!

If you haven't noticed, more and more people are throwing themselves into some forms of the investment market in the post-pandemic norm. Well, we're not really here to be part of that because frankly, we are terrible at numbers.

“Financially independent, retired early” or “FIRE” as the title reads, becomes more emphasized than ever and is used to promote and attract people who weren't in the deep seas of investment.

Why call it the “deep seas”? Simple, it's unpredictable and it cannot be filled with however much money there is in the world. We're not here to criticize the market but to point out the negative effect it brings to humanity. After all, the stock market isn't anything new, and yes good things come out of it, too. That said, what's wrong with the market is our good old GREED.

We all want and need money, and there's no doubt about it. We also want MORE and need MORE money so we can have MORE. See the problem yet? This is where most of us differ.

They say “money can't buy happiness” and then some others added, “without money, there is no happiness”. Both are true, but both are wrong.

Why do we want to be financially independent? Is it so we can be happy? If we achieve so, can we then retire from the workforce?

We are not the wisest people in the world nor are we close to being. However, we believe that to be financially independent doesn't require more money. It's easy to spot this. We're not talking about “being rich” here. When we were children, we wanted to be independent of our parents, and that didn't require being more powerful than our guardians. We just needed to be good enough for ourselves, get a job so you can live, and do something that you have passion for. All it takes is a healthy mindset of appreciation, and now you're financially independent.

Why do we want to retire early? Is it because we hated what we do for a living? Oh you poor thing, you have it all backward. We don't suffer until we transcend. We enter heaven first so we don't suffer. No, we're not religious; heaven is just a saying.

People spend most of their lives working. Think about that for a moment. Doesn't this mean that how we work matters the most? Why even think about retirement when there's no guarantee if it'll ever come? Retirement is a myth in our time. It is something like a fairytale so we can have hope and forget the suffering. There is no retirement.

We are born to be raised, educated to be independent, and inspired to inspire. We seek happiness but it isn't anywhere to be found but within ourselves. True happiness isn't given but realized. It doesn't mean that you don't be sad or mad anymore. On the contrary, you feel all of them and still be okay about life. You get hurt, and you heal. You don't retire, you just live life. We don't get a switch that turns our world on and off. We ARE the switch. Find peace in chaos, and you would've achieved FIRE long before the specialists told you they can help you make more money.
